At least we aren't the terrorists!

What the hell is going on? I know that bad things happen in war and that collateral damage is hard to prevent, but how do you tell someone we are the better choice when this happens? Are we better because we don't behead the people we kill?

I understand they are innocent until proven otherwise. If they are innocent, a military court is a good place to be tried. I once heard that if you are guilty, you want to be tried in a civilian court because you had a better chance of being found "not guilty."
